In July of 1987, members from local churches around the earth attended the summer training of the Living Stream Ministry in Anaheim, California. This training centered on preaching the gospel by “door knocking,” or going from door to door to meet people who were interested in God. A number of teams participated in door knocking in the city of Tustin, California. As a result, a few regular home meetings were set up and maintained by members of the nearby church in Irvine. By the spring of 1988, one couple from Long Beach and two couples from Irvine moved to Tustin and began to have regular meetings from house to house. Within a few years there were twenty Christians meeting regularly as the church in Tustin.

Over time, most of those who were meeting in Tustin migrated to other places, including Albuquerque, Anaheim, Orange, Miami and Charlotte, North Carolina to strengthen the churches in those cities. The remaining members of the church in Tustin began to gather with the church in Irvine for meetings on the Lord’s Day, enjoying the mutual strengthening and building up of the Body of Christ. The believers in Tustin now gather in homes during the week for prayer and group meetings and meet with the church in Irvine on the weekends. We are one Body in Christ regardless of locality, and we look to the Lord for what He will do to gather together His many seekers in Tustin.
